Download videos from public Reddit posts

Use a public Reddit post link rather than a direct video URL whenever possible. RedVid reads the post media so it can return the available video source.

Quality and sound you can expect
RedVid hands you the video exactly as Reddit serves it. When a post exposes several resolutions, RedVid links the highest-quality available source. The file is not recompressed, resized, or watermarked before you save it.
Reddit stores many videos as separate video and audio tracks. When the source includes an audio track, RedVid adds it during the download so your saved file has sound. If a post is silent by design, there is no audio track for any downloader to save.

Use public post links only
Private, deleted, quarantined, or otherwise restricted posts cannot be processed. The original source media must still be available from Reddit.
